About Emily
Hi, I'm Emily! I received my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of New Hampshire, and I did my supervised practice and dietetic internship through Bluffton University in Ohio. I have been working as a Registered Dietitian since 2016, mostly doing one on one counseling and delivering group programs. I am also a certified health coach through the American Council on Exercise and have done extensive training in behavior modification. I am passionate about helping individuals reach their health and nutrition related goals, improving health risk factors, and improving relationship with food.
Approach to care
I take a collaborative approach centered around you. I understand that you are the expert in your own life and I like to meet folks where they are at. I like to work with you to set small, specific, realistic goals that work for you that support your overarching health goals. Small changes over time add up to big results! I also love to take an intuitive eating approach, helping you to get in tune with your body's signals and nourish yourself in a way that makes you feel like your best you.
Your first session with Emily
In our first session, I love to get a good background and food history, asking lots of questions and understanding not only what you're doing now but what you've tried in the past, even understanding past experiences with food that may impact food habits today. Depending on what your goals and needs are, we will get into some nutrition education, and you will always walk away from our sessions with 1-2 small, specific, realistic goals to work on between sessions.
