About Emily

Although I began my college career as an English major, it was an introductory nutrition class that ignited my passion for wellness and nutrition and set me on a lifelong course of learning. I find myself now with over 20 years of experience in the field, having earned both my RD credential and a PhD in nutritional sciences. I have devoted my career to understanding complex nutrition-related challenges and to teaching upcoming nutrition scholars, gaining expertise in a wide range of nutrition-related topics along the way. I am deeply committed to the power of nutrition and preventive lifestyle strategies in enhancing health and quality of life, and I am excited to bring my knowledge and experience to help individuals achieve their wellness goals.

My approach to nutrition care is highly relational, built upon strong, trusting relationships with each individual. I focus on understanding unique needs, challenges, and goals, creating a supportive space where they feel heard. While I base my recommendations on evidence, I recognize that not all science applies universally, so I strive to tailor advice to fit each person’s life.
