About Emily

Thank you for considering me as your RDN! My journey to being an RDN began at the University of New Hampshire, where I received a BS in Nutrition Health and Wellness and minor in Sports Coaching. I then took a gap year, working in the clinical setting in dialysis as a technician. From there on, I enrolled at the University of New Haven and received a MS in Nutrition Science and further passed the RD exam. Currently, I hold a full-time position, specializing in eating disorders. I have experience at the Residential, PHP and IOP levels of care, coordinating with other healthcare professionals on my team. I have a strong passion for helping individuals repair their relationship with food, no matter where they are in their recovery journey. Even those of us without eating disorders often have a strained relationship with food, due to diet culture and easy access to misinformation online. Food and nutrition should not be scary, but celebrated.

Approach to care

Food is not just about nourishment, but culture, connection, identity and a way of demonstrating care for others. I believe in a science-backed approach, by adding variety and moderation into our diets. With the influx of misinformation online, deciphering what is true or false can be overwhelming. I am here to help identify your specific nourishment goals, as there is no such thing as a "perfect" diet, as much as people like to sell that motto. Also, laughter is the best medicine!

Your first session with Emily

Please be prepared to fill me in on any relevant prior medical experience, as well as any providers I might need to reach out to. Brainstorm some goals and questions ahead of time, so that we can start working on the root of the matter! And hopefully, we can squeeze a few laughs in (I am really putting the pressure on myself to be funny)
