About Emily
Hello! And welcome to my profile. A little about me: I’ve been a registered dietitian for over five years and have spent my career supporting people in eating disorder recovery, as well as working in community health and nutrition with a focus on infant and maternal health. I’ve worked for several outpatient group practices, residential treatment centers, and community programs such as WIC and Head Start. Outside of work, I enjoy doing yoga or going for jogs along the coast. I moved back home to Southern California in 2020 after living in Virginia for seven years. As much as I loved all the outdoor activities the Shenandoah Valley offered, I missed the Pacific Ocean and am grateful to be back in SoCal near my immediate family. I’m glad you’re here and look forward to connecting and learning more about your nutrition-related goals!
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition counseling is gentle, straightforward, and client-centered. This often means having open conversations not only about what you eat, but also about the thoughts and behaviors that shape your food choices. It can also involve providing nutrition education to help challenge unhelpful beliefs that may be holding you back from reaching your health goals.
Your first session with Emily
In our first meeting, we’ll review your health history and talk about what you hope to gain from our sessions (in other words, what brought you here!). We’ll also go over a few housekeeping details, such as cancellation policies and scheduling preferences.
