About Emily
I'm a Registered Dietitian with over 14 years of experience working with individuals on dialysis, along with a strong background in general nutrition and diabetes care. I've always been interested in mindful eating and healthy eating approaches that support both physical health and a positive relationship with food. I enjoy helping people navigate complex nutrition needs in a way that feels realistic, sustainable, and supportive. Outside of work, I'm married and a proud mom to two amazing daughters. Our home is full of life with two beautiful German Shepherds and lots of cats. As a family, we've recently started learning about gardening, canning our food and starting my sourdough journey with the rest of the world. This has deepened my appreciation for where food comes from and how nourishing food can be both practical and enjoyable.
Approach to care
My approach to care is client-centered, practical, and rooted in evidence-based nutrition. I believe nutrition looks different for everyone, so I take time to understand each client's health history, lifestyle, culture, and goals. I focus on meeting clients where they are and use motivational interviewing to help them set realistic, meaningful goals that feel achievable and sustainable. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and empowered. My recommendations are personalized and flexible, with an emphasis on progress over perfection.
Your first session with Emily
During the first session, I will get to know you by discussing your health history, current habits, lifestyle, and any concerns you have about nutrition. I'll ask questions to better understand what's important to you, what's been challenging in the past, and what you hope to get out of working together. We'll also talk about your goals and what success looks like for you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out - I'm here to listen, answer questions, and help create a plan that feels realistic and supportive. By the end of the visit, we'll identify a few next steps and decide how we can best work together moving forward.
