About Emily

Emily’s passion for nutrition began in sixth grade when her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. This personal experience sparked Emily’s lifelong interest in health, preventative medicine, and the powerful role nutrition plays in overall wellness. Her relationship with food has morphed over the years as she’s overcome body image issues, autoimmune disease, navigating being widowed in 2018, weight changes, attending nutrition conferences, and countless hours of researching nutrition. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Idaho and is committed to continued learning and growth to provide the best possible care to her clients. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, exploring the outdoors through rafting, fishing, and gardening, going to CrossFit, and playing with her dog, Maddie.

Approach to care

With over 15 years of experience, Emily helps clients navigate a wide range of health conditions, including weight management, digestive issues, menopause, intermittent fasting, prediabetes, diabetes, and disease prevention. Emily's true passion lies in supporting individuals with weight management and gut health. Through personal experience, she understands that the nutrition world can be difficult to navigate. Emily has developed a simplified, sustainable approach to helping her clients effortlessly achieve their weight goals. When it comes to digestive issues, especially bloating, Emily’s gut protocol offers you significant relief. Her goal is to empower clients to achieve true food freedom. She works with clients to foster a positive, sustainable relationship with food—one that promotes health, confidence, and well-being, without over-restriction or guilt. Emily believes that every person deserves access to nutrition care that is rooted in respect and empathy.

Your first session with Emily

Think of the first session as a "get to know you" appointment where the main objective is to gather information. I want to make sure I have a full understanding of your specific health goals and background. The first appointment is more "big picture" and follow-up appointments are where we get into more of the nitty-gritty and fine-tune goals and specific topics. My goal is to establish a trusting, supportive, and long-term relationship with my clients. In my mind, I view my clients as my friends. Sometimes, appointments are a lot of listening, others consist of offering advice and guidance, while others are tough love. My purpose is to empower you to reach your goals.
