About Erin

Hi, I’m Erin Caraher, a Registered Dietitian with nearly 10 years of experience helping people build a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food. I’ve spent my career working in an outpatient hospital setting, supporting individuals with a wide range of nutrition needs and life experiences. I’m passionate about nutrition education and empowering people to create habits that actually last. I believe health isn’t about perfection or restriction—it’s about understanding your body, stabilizing blood sugar, and learning how to nourish yourself in a way that feels realistic and supportive. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with individuals navigating diabetes, weight management, bariatric surgery, and metabolic health, as well as those exploring GLP-1 medications. I also love helping clients reconnect with their bodies through intuitive eating, breaking free from diet culture while still supporting their health goals.

Approach to care

My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized—because no two people (or plates) are the same. Whether you’re looking to improve blood sugar control, heal your relationship with food, or find balance that fits your life, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Your first session with Erin

Our first session is typically less than an hour and is focused on getting to know you and your unique needs. We’ll review important health history, discuss your current concerns, and complete a diet recall to better understand your eating patterns and habits. Together, we’ll explore what’s working, what feels challenging, and what goals matter most to you. Before we wrap up, we’ll set gentle, realistic goals that feel supportive and achievable, giving you a clear and confident starting point without overwhelm.

Education

CUNY Queens College, Long Island University Post

Hobbies

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family—especially my four kids. Staying active is important to me, so I enjoy exercising, going to the beach, and getting outside whenever I can. I also love reading and simply soaking up quality time with my husband and kids, whether we’re at home or on a family adventure.
