About Erin
Hey There! My name is Erin and I have been a dietitian for 8 years. I started out my career in the hospital setting but quickly realized I wanted more one on one patient care. I had always found eating disorders extremely interesting but it became personal when I watched a friend fight for her own recovery. I then began working in an eating disorder outpatient clinic where I still current work. I have loved every second of helping individuals heal their relationship with food, and find freedom from the grip of an eating disorder through through building new habits, finding creative ways to make cooking more approachable, and disconnecting control and emotions from eating.
Approach to care
My approach to care is to lead with compassion and connection. My first goal is always to connect with my client as an individual by learning about your current environment and situation as well as your personality traits to create a safe space to share your eating concerns, goals and current behaviors. My top priority is meeting clients where they are and creating sustainable change that will last a life time not just 2 weeks time. I often utilize intuitive eating principles and nutrition education to support these sustainable changes.
Your first session with Erin
I know how overwhelming a first appointment can feel. My priority with our first appointment is to make you comfortable with talking about a subject that often is very vulnerable. The questions we will discuss during our first session are questions about your typical day in regards to eating, hunger and fullness cues, diet history, disordered eating behaviors, and an emotional eating evaluation. After we discuss these topics I want to hear from you on what your hopes and goals are from meeting with a dietitian. We will then discuss 3-5 big picture goals that we will work towards during our next sessions.
