About Esohe
Hi, Iām Essie! Iām a passionate registered dietitian nutritionist and proud mother of three, originally from New York. With a strong foundation in eating disorders, geriatric and pediatric nutrition, mental health, and intuitive eating, Iām dedicated to helping individuals build healthier relationships with food. Iāve provided Medical Nutrition Therapy to a diverse range of populations, including those managing diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, burns, and more. I hold both a bachelorās and a masterās degree in nutrition from Brooklyn College. I specialize in helping clients achieve their health goals through personalized and sustainable dietary strategies.
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition care is centered on fostering a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Guided by the Health at Every Size (HAES) framework, I emphasize weight-inclusive care and encourage healthful behaviors. I work with clients to establish healthy boundaries around food, address body image concerns, and reframe negative self-talk to promote a positive inner dialogue. Acknowledging the significance of intersecting identities, I strive to create an inclusive space for every client. Committed to continuous learning, I incorporate evidence-based practices such as mindful eating and stress management to empower clients on their journey toward long-term wellness and self-acceptance.
Your first session with Esohe
In our first session, we'll gather important background information to guide your intake. This will involve discussing your mental and physical health history, current eating habits, and any previous experiences with dietitians or nutrition programs. We'll also explore your short-term and long-term goals for seeking nutrition counseling, which may include improving your relationship with food, managing a specific health condition, or working towards body acceptance. By gaining a clear understanding of your unique needs and goals, we can create a personalized plan that supports your journey toward improved health and well-being.
