About Feriha
Feriha Bilgen, MPH, RD, LD, is a registered dietitian specializing in gut health—including celiac disease and IBS—as well as diabetes, heart health, and overall wellness. I work with clients who feel confused by nutrition advice, overwhelmed after a diagnosis, or stuck trying to make lasting changes. Many people already know what they “should” be doing but find it hard to put into practice. That’s where I help. I translate evidence-based research into simple, realistic steps that fit your life and give you the confidence to follow through. My care is weight-neutral, focusing on health-promoting behaviors first. If weight change is part of your goals, I’ll support you with safe, sustainable strategies. Above all, I believe in compassion, accountability, and progress—not perfection—so you always feel supported on your journey forward.
Approach to care
I take a science-based but practical approach. When available, I review labs to guide our plan—whether it’s blood sugar, cholesterol, thyroid markers, or vitamin and mineral levels like iron, B12, and vitamin D. These numbers help us spot gaps and track progress, but I always combine them with your symptoms, lifestyle, and goals to create a plan that feels realistic and sustainable. Nutrition change isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it rarely happens in just one visit. That’s why I emphasize accountability, ongoing support, and step-by-step progress. Together, we’ll translate evidence-based recommendations into daily habits that improve digestion, energy, and long-term health. Whether you’re here for gut health, nutrient optimization, chronic disease management, or overall wellness, my role is to guide you with clarity, compassion, and a personalized roadmap forward.
Your first session with Feriha
Your first session is a chance to slow down and share your full story—something most people don’t often get the time to do with other providers. We’ll go through your health history, symptoms, food patterns, lifestyle, and goals in detail. If you have recent labs, we’ll review those too. From there, we’ll build a roadmap together: starting with your top priorities now and setting a direction for long-term success. We won’t solve everything in one appointment, and reaching your goals takes follow-up and consistent effort. But this is where real change starts—by pairing the right information with the accountability and support to actually apply it. Most people set goals but don’t reach them—not because they can’t, but because they didn’t have the right system or guidance. My role is to help you finally bridge that gap. If you’re ready to stop going in circles and start moving forward with clarity and confidence, this first session is the best step you can take.

Hobbies
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through walking and taekwondo, which keep me energized and balanced. I also love reading non-fiction books, exploring new cities on foot when I travel, and finding unique coffee shops to settle into. There’s nothing better than enjoying a warm mug of coffee—especially when it comes with beautiful latte art. These everyday joys inspire the same curiosity and balance I bring into my work as a dietitian.
