About Fritha

Someone once said, “Do what you’re most afraid of.” I began practice before the tech explosion, so that is the path most treacherous for me. So here I am, in a culture that is wide awake about food-as-health, surrounded and supported by a legion of professionals with backgrounds in health care, school nutrition, sports, and culinary arts (and I.T.)—and more. The array of viewpoints that we bring to the workplace is practically infinite. As a young biology grad, in the dark about what to do with my life, I took off for the other side of the world to teach science at a remote K-12 in West Africa. I had great food there—plain and plentiful. The philosophy I emerged with was that simplicity and sustainability rule the day. Early on as a dietitian I fell in love with geriatrics and rehabilitation, and have travelled for corporate groups to work in 28 states. I’ve visited another 20 in the process. (Still waiting to get to Hawaii and Washington state.) It’s been a great ride!

Approach to care

What I want most is to help you to help you take charge of your wellness path and have the best health possible for the rest of your life. You can do it. You can bridge science and autonomy. My job is to listen and offer guidance balancing your health needs and your lifestyle hopes. We’re in this TOGETHER. I want to get to know anything you feel comfortable sharing. I love seeing pictures of food, family, pets, vacations.

Your first session with Fritha

We’ll start with a conversation about your goals, challenges, and history with food and health. We’ll explore your current eating patterns, medical background, and habits while talking about the things that matter most to you. I’ll ask questions, hear what you have to say, and start identifying small, achievable next steps. You’ll leave your first session with a scheduled follow-up appointment, a clear plan for our work—TOGETHER—and feelings of relief that you aren't in this alone :) TOGETHER we’ll generate a health & nutrition assessment, set practical goals, and identify learning needs within a dietitian’s scope of practice. The final product will be A Plan That Fits Your Life.
