About Gabriela
As a registered dietitian, I am passionate about guiding people to build a better relationship with food, movement, or your body. I am here to meet you where you are at and encourage you to make small, meaningful changes in your life to improve your well-being. Food can often be associated with shame and guilt, and I want to support clients in cultivating more joy and freedom with food. As we work together, my goal is to help you feel empowered and connected to your inner wisdom to be able to figure out the best way to nourish and care for your own body.
Approach to care
My approach emphasizes a weight inclusive and holistic approach. This means I am looking at your overall health and well-being as opposed to focusing on body size and weight loss. Health is affected by many factors beyond physical ones such as emotional, mental, environmental, cultural, and spiritual. It’s important that my approach is guided by respect, compassion, and evidence-based care to support your personalized journey. I utilize principles from the Health at Every Size (HAES) framework as well as intuitive eating.
Your first session with Gabriela
Our first session is going to be focused on getting to know you and what you would like to accomplish through our work together. I will be asking different questions about your relationship to food, health history, lifestyle habits (e.g. movement, sleep, stress), etc. I hope for it to be an open and engaging conversation where I can provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to share your lived experiences. From there, we can create a plan of realistic and sustainable goals that align with your values and interests.
