About Gabrielle

I bring a diverse background in inpatient clinical nutrition, community outreach, outpatient counseling, and nutrition research. I have worked with a wide range of patient populations, including but not limited to, geriatrics, oncology, cardiology, neurology, HIV/AIDS, obesity, diabetes, pregnancy, PCOS, autism, and pediatrics (two years and older). After my dietetic internship, I worked as a Clinical Dietitian at Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital. During my time there, I gained extensive experience managing complex nutrition cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and addressing nutritional deficiencies and drug-nutrient interactions. I also earned my Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) certification, which confirms my knowledge of nutrition support. I worked in community health outreach and outpatient counseling at the Inova Cares Clinic. I have professional experience in nutrition research from my time at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Approach to care

I am dedicated to evidence-based practice, making sure all nutrition recommendations are up to date. If you have a question I am unable to answer, I will do research and provide you with an evidence-based response during our subsequent sessions. I like to focus on motivational interviewing and whole person health, focusing on all aspects of your life rather than just the food. We will work towards lifestyle modifications and how to change habits to benefit your health.

Your first session with Gabrielle

During our first session, we will take some time get to know each other and build rapport. As the session proceeds, I will ask you some background questions related to the reason for your visit and overall health. We will conclude the session by setting smaller, attainable, goals together.
