About Haela
My background blends clinical nutrition, culinary expertise, and mindfulness practices. I’ve provided inpatient and outpatient medical nutrition therapy in South Carolina, and worked with clients to create practical meal plans and achieve weight loss goals. Beyond clinical work, I also teach yoga, and have previously worked on urban farms and gardens, taught nutrition, gardening and cooking to kids and families, and have even worked as a retreat chef. These experiences, along with my own journey of healing my relationship with food, inspire my compassionate and holistic approach to care.
Approach to care
My approach is all about collaboration and meeting you where you are in your wellness journey. Together, we’ll explore your unique needs and challenges to set realistic, sustainable goals that fit your lifestyle and help you feel confident in your choices. I blend evidence-based nutrition with mindfulness to create a flexible, balanced approach that works for you. Whether it’s improving gut health, managing a medical condition, loosing excess weight, or addressing emotional eating, I’m here to support you every step of the way with tools, guidance, and encouragement to help you thrive.
Your first session with Haela
In our first session, I focus on understanding you—your goals, challenges, lifestyle, and any factors influencing your nutrition and well-being. We’ll discuss your medical history, eating habits, and priorities in a collaborative conversation where you can share your story openly. Together, we’ll identify clear, actionable goals and create an initial roadmap tailored to your needs, whether it’s meal planning, mindfulness practices, or strategies to overcome challenges. Most importantly, this session is a space for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered as we begin your journey toward better health.
