About Hannah
Hello! I am a Pacific Northwest native who enjoys the rocky northwest beaches, walks with my boyfriend, and playing with my adorable nieces. I aim for progress, not perfection, in all areas of life, including food and exercise. In the past, I worked with a chef who taught me to appreciate the goodness of every food, from summer peaches to tangy salads to dark chocolate walnut cookies fresh out of the oven. I know first hand the challenges of moderating food intake for health and finding ways to do so without losing enjoyment. As for exercise, I like anything fun and social, especially dancing and bike riding.
Approach to care
My approach to care is patient-centered and compassionate without enabling. I aim to liberalize the diet and believe all foods fit. I believe in starting with familiar cultural foods first before adding anything new. Long-term results depend on lifestyle change rather than a diet mentality. I am weight inclusive and believe health can be achieved at every size; weight does not equal health. Long term goals are achieved through small goals set and met at a slow and steady pace. In other words, good things take time. Motivation is important, but so is discipline; take the actions and the feelings will follow. When in doubt, I go to the research and advise based on evidence.
Your first session with Hannah
In our first session, I will ask about your goals and questions first, then get some background on what you know and have already tried. We will then dig in to your current eating habits, schedule, supplements, allergies, exercise, and any other relevant lifestyle factors. We will review any diagnoses or labs together. We will set at least one goal by the end of the first session and lay out a road map together for our future sessions.
