About Heather

Heather is a Culinary Dietitian in Florida with over seven years of dietetics experience in private practice. In addition to nutrition counseling, Heather helps busy professionals and seniors develop personalized strategies for making grocery shopping and meal prep practical and efficient. Her clinical specialties include type 2 diabetes (typically not taking clients with gestational diabetes or type 1 diabetes), cardiovascular disease, and weight management. Heather isn't taking clients with a history of eating disorders. Heather completed the Plant-Based Nutrition Program at eCornell Center for Nutrition Studies and a professional certificate in Plant-Based cooking from Rouxbe.

Approach to care

Heather takes an add-in approach to discovering a nutrition lifestyle that fits each client. She helps clients to set realistic objective- and behavior-based goals, develop systems to help achieve those goals, and evaluate successes and challenges. Her philosophy on behavior change can be summed up by a James Clear (author of Atomic Habits) quote: “Goals are for people who care about winning once. Systems are for people who care about winning repeatedly.” Heather helps clients build new systems (i.e. routines) that will ultimately help them move closer to their health goals.

Your first session with Heather

In an initial visit, Heather dedicates time to better understand where you’ve been, where you are, and where you want to be. This begins with a thorough nutrition assessment which includes learning about your medical history, nutrition and lifestyle habits, food preferences, current symptoms of concern, and health and nutrition goals. You will be able to ask questions and define what a successful counseling experience looks like. At the end of the first visit, you’ll leave with at least one actionable step to help move you closer to your health goals.
