About Heather
I am a Registered Dietitian, with 13 years clinical experience, who is passionate about helping infants and children grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential through compassionate, evidenced-based nutrition care. For the last 5 years, I have specialized in working with children and infants facing growth challenges, feeding difficulties, overweight and other medical conditions requiring nutrition support or supplementation. I partner with parents, caregivers, and healthcare teams to develop a customized nutrition plan that supports both growth and long-term wellness. Areas of specialization involve failure to thrive and growth faltering, infant feeding and formula management for premature and term infants, feeding difficulties with gastrointestinal disorders, picky eating, pediatric critical care, and pediatric oncology.
Approach to care
I believe every child deserves the chance to grow and feel their best- no matter how complex their nutrition needs may be. My approach is gentle, practical, and family-centered, focusing on collaboration, education, and step-by-step progress. Nutrition is never "one size fits all," especially in pediatrics. I work closely with families to create care plans that are realistic, sustainable, and empowering.
Your first session with Heather
Meeting with a pediatric dietitian is an important step in supporting your child's health, growth and confidence around food. Your first session is all about getting to know your child, understanding your family's goals, and building a plan that feels realistic and supportive- not overwhelming. We will discuss things like your child's medical history and growth patterns, typical eating habits and mealtime routines, any concerns, and your goals and priorities for nutrition care. If available, we can review lab results, medical notes, BMI, and other feeding or nutrition support details. This helps identify your child's unique nutrition needs and guide next steps. Based on what's learned, we will create an individualized plan, which may include adjusting feeding schedules or meal patterns, recommending foods, formulas and/or supplements, setting realistic family-friendly goals, and providing strategies to reduce mealtime stress and support growth.
