About Heather

Food and family have always been at the center of my life, which led me from a BA at the University of Maryland to nutrition coursework at Hunter College and an MS in Nutrition Education and Food Science from Montclair State, where I became an Adjunct Professor. For over 20 years I have worked as an RD in private practice, counseling individuals from all ages and backgrounds. I often hear, "I know what to do, I just can't get myself to do it," so I focus on behavior modification that helps small changes add up to significant results without turning your world upside down.

Approach to care

Finding the right balance of what works for you is always my priority! We will collaborate each step of the way to ensure you are confident in these positive changes and feeling good along the way. Providing nutrition education and sharing resources to support your journey gives you an opportunity for long-lasting success!

Your first session with Heather

Expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we’ll review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics, then take a deep dive into your relationship with food. Together we’ll set short-term, realistic goals, often one or two, and create a meal plan if needed that feels doable rather than restrictive. You don’t need to have all the answers before you arrive. I’ll use behavior-change techniques to turn ideas into everyday habits, and we’ll build a trusting, nonjudgmental partnership as we go.
