About Heather
Heather has had a passion for nutrition since she was a child. As a competitive gymnast, she strived early on to use food to increase energy and get the maximum performance from her body by reading nutrition books. She went on to compete for the University of California at Davis as a pole vaulter and to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition with a Minor in Psychology. She completed her dietetic internship at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center and continued her work at UCLA West Valley Medical Center. Heather has over 10 years of experience working with Cardiology, Diabetes, GI, Renal, Bariatric, Burns, Cancer, ICU and weight loss.
Approach to care
Heather is like talking to an old friend who never judges you and accepts you as you are. She is energetic and warm, but most importantly, she wants what is best for you. She actively listens and collaborates with you to create small achievable goals in order to create long term success. She uses behavioral therapy and mindful eating along with scientific evidence-based knowledge to make suggestions and provide rationale so you understand why you are making new food choices or creating new behaviors.
Your first session with Heather

Together, you'll discuss your unique nutritional needs and work together to create a nutrition plan with small obtainable goals to follow up with on your next sessions.
