About Heather
Hi, I'm Heather! I'm a registered dietitian who earned a BA in Psychology and a MA in Healthy Psychology. My passion for nutrition began while studying health psychology and becoming curious about what motivates behavior change. My father was also diagnosed with prediabetes and cancer, at that time, so I experienced the importance of making nutritional behavior changes for a loved one. I am a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, I spent the last 4 years working primarily in pediatric diabetes care, supporting young patients and their families through diagnosis, daily management, and lifestyle adjustments. I’ve learned how powerful education can be—especially when care is individualized to empower clients in managing their diabetes and care.
Approach to care
I believe in an individualized approach to care and meeting clients where they are at. I believe in setting small, attainable goals in order to build lifelong habits that are sustainable. We will discuss obstacles that you face, and modify your plan to overcome those obstacles and reach your goals.
Your first session with Heather
The first session will be spent getting to know each other. I want to know about your personal goals and what you hope to gain from our time together. From there we will collaborate on a personalized plan that include short term and long-term goals.
