About Henley
I am a Texas native and I have been a Registered Dietitian for 2 years. I chose to pursue a career in nutrition and dietetics because nutrition education has been a powerful component of my overall nutritional wellbeing, and I wanted to be equipped to pass that knowledge on to others. So far in my career I have had the privilege of counseling numerous patients through their nutrition journey, often focusing on a variety of nutrition topics, such as diabetes, gestational diabetes, heart disease, and weight management. I am especially passionate about helping people from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds learn how to thrive nutritionally, tailoring their nutrition plan based on their preferences, interests, and the resources available to them. Wherever you find yourself in relation to food, I am excited to help you build a plan that will work for you and to guide you and cheer you on as you meet your goals!
Approach to care
I believe that our bodies have been designed to be nourished and sustained by food. Food is our tool not just to survive in life, but to thrive. But, so often, we don't know how to use this tool very well! My desire with each patient I see is to meet them where they are at, design a plan that allows them to effectively use food as the tool that it is, and walk closely with them through each step of the journey to reaching their goals.
Your first session with Henley
During our first session, my goal is to get to know you, learn about your nutrition history, and define your specific nutrition goals. I want to know as much as I can about your goals, motivations, preferences, and resources so that I can build you a nutrition plan that is realistic, sustainable, and effective! You'll leave the first session with a set of short term and long term goals and with clear first steps to take to reach these goals. You can expect this session to feel more interview style, with your follow-up sessions feeling more counseling style, helping you to stay on track to meet your goals.
