About Ian

I’m a nutrition professional with four years of experience helping people build sustainable, evidence-based habits that support both health and performance. My own experiences in weightlifting taught me early on how closely nutrition and performance are connected—a realization that continues to guide my work today. I’m currently involved in nutrition and exercise research at Old Dominion University, and this ongoing research helps me translate research findings into practical, personalized strategies that actually fit your life.

Approach to care

I would consider my approach to be grounded in evidence-based practice, emphasizing long-term sustainability where everything fits in moderation. My goal is to help you develop consistency in your food choices—an outcome strongly supported by research as one of the greatest predictors of success in lifestyle modification. Using evidence-based strategies, I focus on sustainable, individualized changes that align with your preferences and daily routine to make consistency as attainable and realistic as possible.

Your first session with Ian

In our first session, we’ll start by gathering some background information—things like your day-to-day eating and exercise habits, medical history, and lifestyle factors, among others. From there, you’ll guide much of the conversation so we can focus on what matters most to you. Together, we’ll identify a few small, realistic short-term goals that build momentum toward your long-term vision. This approach reflects an evidence-based, collaborative process designed to help you create lasting, sustainable change.
