About Iris

Hi! I’m Iris Pacheco, a Registered Dietitian with over 10 years of experience, primarily supporting older adults in nursing homes, long-term care, and short-term rehab settings, as well as individuals with end-stage kidney disease on dialysis. I also have experience in hospital care and providing nutrition counseling for specific conditions that require specialized medications. I provide nutrition guidance in English and can assist Spanish-speaking clients at a basic conversational level.

Approach to care

I provide nutrition guidance based on research and evidence and stay up-to-date on best practices. Nutrition covers many fields and specialties, so while I might not know everything, I'm committed to guiding you in the right direction. Together, we’ll work to find the safest and most practical solutions to support your health goals.

Your first session with Iris

During your first session, I’ll take time to listen carefully to everything you want to discuss about your nutrition concerns and goals. I’ll do my best to answer your questions and understand what you hope to gain from the session. Together, we’ll create a plan that works best for you and supports your health in a practical, manageable way.

Education

I have a Master of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition.

Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy cooking and experimenting with ways to make recipes lower in sugar and fat. I also like reading, studying, researching, and organizing.
