About Isabel

As a registered dietitian, I have worked with clients across different ages, ranging from young adolescents to older adults. I have primarily worked with the eating disorder population but I also have experience working with heart disease, GI conditions, and weight loss. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings giving me a diverse range of experience but at my core I want to help people heal their relationship with food.

Approach to care

I take a warm and compassionate approach with my clients prioritizing their goals to lead the direction of our care. I take a weight-neutral and health at every size (HAES) approach with my clients focusing on overall health and wellbeing, including mental and emotional health.

Your first session with Isabel

During the first session you can expect a deep dive into why you're looking into working with a registered dietitian and what your goals are if you have identified any. It's okay if you don't have any goals right off the bat! Sometimes what we want to work on comes to us as we go. You can expect questions related to what you typically eat everyday, your relationship to food, what food was like for you growing up, and the direction you would like to go in. Sometimes people don't like doing a deep dive in their first session and that's okay too - I'll honor wherever you're at and I'll always keep my questions to whatever you're most comfortable answering.

Location

πŸ“ Illinois

Education

Bachelors in Nutrition Science and Master's in Nutrition at University of Illinois at Chicago

Hobbies

My days end with my nose in a book (typically some kind of fiction) as I try to make my way through my endless TBR. When I have the free time I like to spend time in nature, going on walks or laying in the grass as I read. I love keeping up with different TV shows - I need to watch an episode while I'm eating dinner - and I also love watching movies!
