About Jacqueline
I have been practicing as a dietitian in a variety of settings since 2005 and have loved every day of it. The way the field of nutrition combines so many aspects of life--like chemistry, biology, psychology, culinary arts, culture, problem solving, and logistics--is such a perfect fit for me. I do not take for granted that I have the privilege to work in a field that I love and find rewarding. Outside of work, I enjoy being a mother to two sweet, energetic sons.
Approach to care
I try to focus on the positive and building on the individual's strengths. There is more than one healthy way to eat, so I work to help people discover what works for them to improve their health and well-being. I believe there are no "bad" foods, and shame has no place in my nutrition counseling.
Your first session with Jacqueline
Usually, I start by asking questions to get to know my client, things like how they eat and what their life is like. Then, I offer some suggestions about changes to try, based on their situation and preferences, and why I think those changes could be helpful. Then, I help the client decide what changes they want to try in the immediate future to work toward their long-term goals.
