About Jamilah
Food has always been my laboratory and my joy. With a BS in Food and Nutrition Sciences and a PhD in Nutrition with an emphasis in community nutrition and public health, I bring ten years as a registered dietitian who has worked in clinical and hospital settings, research and academia, community health programs, private practice, and non-profits. As an RDN and LDN I combine rigorous science with practical problem solving. I love cooking, baking, and traveling, and I’m passionate about supporting clients to make small, sustainable changes that improve health over the long term.
Approach to care
Science guides the plans we build, but your life guides the choices you keep. I use current research and proven protocols to shape clear, actionable steps while keeping our work warm and judgment-free. Together we'll focus on behaviors and sustainable habits rather than quick fixes or diet rules, using a weight-neutral lens that honors health-promoting changes. I take a whole-person view and I prioritize education so you feel confident making informed decisions.
Your first session with Jamilah
We'll begin by reviewing your medical history and any lab work or biometrics so we have the full picture. From there we'll take a thoughtful, nonjudgmental look at your relationship with food, daily routines, strengths, and frustrations. The conversation is direct but supportive, focused on creating short-term, realistic goals you can actually use. You don’t need to have everything figured out beforehand. Together we'll leave with a few practical next steps you can try at a sustainable pace.
