About Janel

I help athletes and active individuals fuel better to perform better using realistic nutrition strategies that optimize athletic performance and overall wellness. I specialize in working with competitive athletes with eating disorders or who are looking to improve their nutrition mindset. As a former collegiate track and cross country athlete myself, I understand what it’s like to have big athletic goals, a busy schedule, and way too much nutrition information at your fingertips.

Approach to care

I’m all about making nutrition simple, sustainable, and tailored to your lifestyle so you can feel and perform your best long after we finish working together. My goal is to help you enjoy food without stress or rigid rules, while giving you the tools and support to fuel confidently every day. I bring a nonjudgmental approach and a sense of humor, and I love helping athletes unlock their full potential—both in sport and in life.

Your first session with Janel

In our first session, I'll spend time getting to know you—your goals, lifestyle, training, eating habits, and any nutrition challenges you’ve been facing. I’ll ask questions about your health history, daily routines, and sport performance so we can create a clear picture of where you’re starting from. We will work together to outline a roadmap for bigger changes that will come over time, and I'll give you a few practical tips you can start using right away.

Education

M.S., Nutritional Science (California State University, Los Angeles) B.S., Exercise and Sports Science (Coastal Carolina University)

Hobbies

I love staying active—whether it’s running, Pilates, or CrossFit. I LOVE being outdoors—hiking, beaching, traveling, and enjoying different foods. Last season I even gave skiing a shot (after finally accepting that snowboarding and I just weren’t meant to be). And honestly, does chasing a toddler count as cardio?
