About Janelle
Growing up an athlete and being the big sister of a sibling who was diagnosed with diabetes and celiac disease at a young age, I quickly learned the interconnection of optimal nutrition and how one’s daily dietary habits can impact one’s overall health, longevity, recovery and performance, both positively and negatively. My strong passion and admiration for health, nutrition and fitness is what inspired me to attain a master’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition and become a registered dietitian, as well as my deep desire to spread health awareness and promote a balanced, happy and Upbeet life!
Approach to care
My feeding philosophy is simple. I don’t believe in limited and very restricted diets. I focus on inclusion rather than exclusion whenever feasible. I believe in teaching my patients and clients how to eat healthy and balanced, but most importantly how to create a healthy relationship with food and reduce fear around eating.
Your first session with Janelle
I will conduct a Comprehensive Nutrition Assessment in which I'll ask a lot of questions to gather a full understanding of your lifestyle habits and medical/nutrition history, assess how you’re feeling and your nutrition needs, so that by the end of session we can begin to develop an individualized plan to help you reach your health goals. We will also set short and long-term goals based on that assessment.
