About Janet

Janet Dukowski is a Registered Dietitian who uses an intuitive eating approach with her clients to help them establish a healthier relationship with food while reaching their health and wellness goals. Janet also specializes in the low FODMAP diet for IBS. She grew up in Vancouver, BC, Canada and worked as a research assistant before becoming a Registered Dietitian so she could directly help people create healthier lives instead of sitting behind the microscope. Janet worked in an acute hospital setting in Vancouver before moving to Charlotte in 2017 where she has been doing individual nutrition counseling with clients to successfully help them along their health and wellness journey.

Approach to care

Janet is passionate about her clients and takes a personalized approach to their care. She works with her clients to develop nutrition and lifestyle changes that are sustainable for the long term. Janet teaches her clients about intuitive and mindful eating, which she has found to be a successful way to empower clients to ditch the "diet mentality" and to enjoy eating food again on their terms. Janet has also helped her clients successfully manage their IBS symptoms using a low FODMAP diet and lifestyle changes.

Your first session with Janet

Empathy, compassion and a little bit of humor, too. Janet wants to get to know you - she will engage you in conversation about your health and wellness goals and focus the conversation around your priorities. She will work in partnership with you to get you started on your journey to reaching those goals, using your guidance and intuition. She will create small, achievable and sustainable goals with you so you feel set up for success after the first visit.
