About Jayme
Hello and welcome! My name's Jayme and I've been a dietitian for 8 years now. Although I have experience working with a variety of conditions and clients, I will outline some of the areas that I have honed in my skillset and enjoy exploring further with my clients || Vegan/vegetarian nutrition (whether you're already plant-based, wanting to explore or even seeing how to ensure adequate plant-based nutrition during pregnancy!) || Nutrition support/tube feeding || IBS/FODMAP elimination diets || Celiac/Gluten-free diet and meal planning || Dairy allergies/dairy-free diets || Heart healthy education and meal planning || Nutrition before, during and after cancer treatment. Nutrition can be a beautiful part of life, but it can also be overwhelmingly complex and difficult to navigate. My goal is to simplify nutrition and help make it an enjoyable and supportive part of your life. If this sounds like what you're looking for, I'd be happy to be a part of your care team!
Approach to care
My philosophy is that I come to our sessions as the food and nutrition expert and you come as the expert of your body. I am here to listen how food, nutrition support and/or chronic illnesses are impacting your daily life and how we can manage or improve these through the power of food and medical nutrition therapy. Please note that I do not routinely provide calorie goals or meal plans as my approach is moreso a fluid, body cue-led way of thinking. If we need to set specific macronutrient goals to improve your health, we absolutely will, but otherwise that isn't something I typically include.
Your first session with Jayme
Our first session will be about getting to know each other and exploring what brings you to see a dietitian. I want to hear from you! We will review your medical history, medication/supplement regimen, any labs available, typical eating patterns/nutrition support regimen, exercise routine and explore your nutrition-related goals.
