About Jeanelle
I’m Jeanelle Banks, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, dedicated to helping people find freedom with food. Grounded in the principles of Health at Every Size® and intuitive eating, I support clients in building a positive relationship with food and body, free from restrictive dieting and weight stigma. It can be frustrating to navigate nutrition and chronic dieting, so the focus is on helping clients create a balanced, sustainable relationship with food, in addition to managing chronic disease through nutrition. I specialize in helping individuals manage chronic health conditions to those seeking overall wellness with a weight-inclusive approach.
Approach to care
I believe nutrition is about creating a balanced, sustainable relationship with food that supports both physical and emotional well-being. My approach focuses on nourishing, not restriction. Instead of strict rules and rigid meal plans, clients are helped to build skills and connect the dots between food and how they feel. Together, we will work to find a sustainable and enjoyable way of eating that aligns with your lifestyle, values, and goals with lasting results. A judgment-free zone is provided where the relationship with food and body can be explored without stress or shame.
Your first session with Jeanelle
In the first session, the client's unique story, goals, and challenges will be addressed. Realistic, personalized goals that fit into a busy life and cultural background will be set. Together, a foundation will be built for long-term health and a peaceful relationship with food and/or managing chronic disease. In addition, we will start creating small goals to get to the bigger/main goal at hand. You'll leave the session feeling empowered with tools and knowledge for positive change towards your journey.
