About Jennifer
When I was a teenager , I decided that being a registered dietitian would be my dream job as an adult. I had started cooking at age 8, volunteered at a hospital at age 16, and became fascinated by the science of nutrition. I knew that I wanted to work with people. Today I now have over 30 years experience as a dietitian and would not choose any other career, and my favorite part of being a dietitian is doing nutrition counseling and guiding people on the journey of reaching their health goals. I have worked with all age groups of patients and speak Spanish. I have a compassionate approach to nutrition counseling, and instead of a strict diet, clients can expect to take away an individualized meal plan and easy to achieve goals from their sessions with me. We will go at your own pace, and I am here to support, teach, and guide you.
Approach to care
My friends describe me as loyal, honest, and funny, and doctors with whom I have worked have told their patients that “everything goes through Jennifer.” As a provider, I can guarantee that I always do the necessary research to give the client the best possible experience that isn’t overly technical but that includes nutrition information that is accurate and up to date.
Your first session with Jennifer
Thank you for being here, and I know you are motivated to make positive changes in lifestyle and/or eating habits to improve existing medical conditions or to prevent future medical conditions. One of the first questions I ask a client is, “What would you personally like to get out of this nutrition counseling session?" I realize, though, that change can be difficult so I take a non-judgmental approach and will tailor the goals and eating plan to what is manageable for your unique schedule, budget, family situations, and level of readiness. I am not a psychologist, but you may also feel comfortable expressing your emotions with me – tears, joy, and laughter. We are in this journey together!
