About Jennifer
Hello! My name is Jennifer and I have nearly 20 years of experience in the wonderful world of dietetics. Currently I reside just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio (since 2004) with my husband, 3 children, and yellow lab- Charley. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings- from long term care, hospitals, and home care to private practice and consulting. I feel that my background as an Army brat that exposed me to different cultures, experiences, places, people and foods is a good fit for the field of dietetics. Collaborating with patients from diverse backgrounds and keeping them at the center of their nutrition journey has brought me great joy.
Approach to care
I take a patient centered care approach that is collaborative and tailored to your needs and goals. I am here to guide and support you on your nutrition journey. I utilize motivational interviewing to see where you are and where you want to be. I also utilize SMART goal setting so that your chosen goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely. Since life can not only be wonderful and exciting, but chaotic and messy as well, I strive to bring clarity to the chaos and encourage progress over perfection.
Your first session with Jennifer
I want to get to know you and take a detailed health and lifestyle history. Getting to know all about you, and collaborating with you, will help us map out an individualized nutrition plan that you can feel confident incorporating into your life. I want to make sure I also answer any immediate questions or concerns you may have. Change can be overwhelming and therefore to support your journey, I like to take your goals and break them down into short term goals, working on no more than 3 short term goals at a time. Follow-up sessions are vital to provide you with ongoing support and guidance on your nutrition journey. I want to support you every step of the way!
