About Jennifer D
I have been a registered dietitian since 2012 and have worked in major hospitals in New York City and Los Angeles. I recently relocated to New Orleans to be closer to my family (and to enjoy some of the best restaurants in the world!). Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with patients facing a wide range of medical conditions including cardiovascular disease, obesity, kidney failure, liver disease, and organ transplantation. For the past 8 years, I have specialized in ketogenic diet therapy counseling patients with seizures and other neurological conditions. I am deeply passionate about the role nutrition plays in reducing the risk for chronic diseases and supporting overall health and wellness. I believe food has the power to both protect and heal us.
Approach to care
As a working mom, I understand how busy and demanding life can be. Making changes to your eating habits can be challenging, and lasting behavior change takes time. That’s why I focus on setting realistic goals with you at each session and providing ongoing support throughout the process. I don’t believe in complicated or elaborate diets; eating should be simple and enjoyable. I encourage my patients to focus on eating real, whole foods – especially colorful fruits and vegetables – while limiting ultra-processed products. My approach emphasizes practical strategies such as meal prepping, mindful eating, and thoughtful timing of meals and snacks. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a dietitian is that small, consistent changes add up to big, lasting results.
Your first session with Jennifer D
I love getting to know my patients! During our first session, we will talk through your nutrition goals and challenges, and I’ll review your medical history. I will ask you questions about your food preferences, past diet experiences, lifestyle, work habits, exercise and sleep patterns, and hobbies. All of these details help me create a personalized plan designed to be sustainable and enjoyable. Whether you’re a gourmet chef who loves cooking at home or someone who enjoys eating most of your meals out at restaurants, I will tailor recommendations to fit your needs and lifestyle.
