About Jennifer
My nutrition journey started after I completed my first two years of college. I was uncertain about which major to pursue, so I started working full-time in a physicianâs office. I realized I enjoyed learning about how the human body works, and I felt at home working in the healthcare field. I returned to school and majored in human nutrition, completing my B.S. and M.S. while working at a community college and private eating disorder clinic. I completed a research study on weight stigma among healthcare students last year and defended my doctoral dissertation this summer. I am passionate about learning and sharing nutrition knowledge.
Approach to care
My approach to care is to meet my clients where they are. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable and confident with their food choices, and to empower them to make sustainable changes that improve their health and quality of life. I am a weight-neutral provider who focuses on improving health, which may or may not include weight loss. Improved health can be achieved without weight changes; however, I work with each individual based on their unique personal needs.
Your first session with Jennifer
In our first session, we will spend time getting to know you, which will include discussing your current concerns, past and present health conditions, your support system, activities/hobbies, and your typical eating habits. Together, we will create both short-term and long-term goals tailored to your specific needs and preferences. There is a wealth of nutrition information (both good and bad), which can cause confusion and anxiety about what to eat. I look forward to helping you work through these challenges.
