About Jennifer
Hi, I’m Jennifer. With 34 years as a Registered Dietitian, Diabetes Educator and Professional Clinical Counselor I blend science with support to help you cultivate a healthier relationship with food. I earned my BS in Dietetics and MS in Guidance and Counseling, and I’ve worked across clinical settings, private practice, corporate wellness, and community health. Today I practice in Toledo, Ohio, guiding clients who want lasting change, not quick fixes. Outside of work, you’ll find me walking or hiking, traveling, taking pictures, spending time with my kids and family, or enjoying time with my dog.
Approach to care
My care philosophy is grounded in evidence, empathy, and partnership. I believe in evidence-based care that stays up to date with current research while honoring your lived experience. I meet you where you are with an empathetic, warm demeanor, and I’m direct and action-oriented about practical steps you can take this week. I practice a holistic approach, focusing on behaviors and wellbeing. I also emphasize education, helping you understand why choices matter and how they fit your life, so you can make informed decisions long after our sessions end.
Your first session with Jennifer
Our first appointment is all about you. We'll review your medical history and lab work, explore your relationship with food, and set short-term goals together. You don’t need to have everything figured out in advance; this is a collaborative, judgment-free conversation designed to reduce anxiety and build trust. We’ll talk through any barriers you’ve encountered, physical, emotional, or mental, and translate that into a practical plan. By the end, you’ll have a clear sense of what we’ll do next and realistic first steps to start making progress.
