About Jennifer
I’m a Registered Dietitian with over a decade of military service and a background in clinical nutrition and research. I work with individuals and families navigating chronic illness, cancer recovery, GI conditions, neurodevelopmental differences, feeding challenges, and disordered eating. My greatest ongoing teacher is navigating life as a parent of children with complex feeding and developmental needs. It shapes how I understand school systems, sensory needs, time constraints, finances, and the emotional reality of caregiving. Nutrition plans only matter if they function inside real family life. In the military, I worked closely with eating disorders, readiness pressures, and the realities of bodies under stress. Some of my most meaningful work also included supporting transgender service members and contributing to policy efforts aimed at more equitable standards of care. Those experiences deepened my commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, and inclusive practice.
Approach to care
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and clinical research. I use comprehensive assessment, relevant clinical data, and ongoing evaluation to guide individualized plans that evolve as your needs change. Recommendations are practical, measurable, and designed to fit real life — not idealized routines. I practice through a trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. That means prioritizing safety, autonomy, consent, and respect, especially for people who have felt dismissed, pressured, or harmed in healthcare settings. I work thoughtfully with eating disorders, body image concerns, neurodivergent feeding patterns, gender-affirming care, and recovery from illness or trauma. Care is collaborative and flexible. We problem-solve together, adjust as needed, and focus on steady progress rather than perfection. My goal is to help you build skills, confidence, and sustainable systems that support long-term health.
Your first session with Jennifer
Your first session functions like a comprehensive clinical assessment. We’ll review medical history, labs when available, growth patterns or weight history when relevant, symptoms, medications, routines, access to food, sensory or feeding considerations, stressors, supports, and goals. I’ll ask detailed questions to understand both biology and lived context. You’ll leave with clear priorities and a grounded starting plan based on current evidence and your individual needs — not generic advice. My goal is for you to feel informed, respected, and oriented, with a thoughtful roadmap we’ll continue refining together.
Location
📍 Boston, Massachusetts
Education
B.S. Dietetics, University of Northern Colorado; M.S. Nutrition, Baylor University; M.S. Clinical Research, MCPHS University
Hobbies
Outside of work, I enjoy movement that feels grounding rather than performative — yoga, Pilates, strength training, and long walks in nature. I love reading and writing, experimenting in the kitchen, tinkering with home projects, finding a good deal, and planning small adventures and micro-vacations with my family.
