About Jennifer
Hi! I am Jen Hillis. I am a Registered Dietitian (RDN), Tampa native, who loves reading evidence based literature on nutrition, talented at bridging the gap between research and everyday understanding, experience in outpatient care for weight loss and bariatric surgery, and has 10 years of experience in community nutrition. I help people with both preventative nutrition to help reduce risk of chronic diseases as well as managing current health conditions to improve quality of life. While getting my degree, I ran track and cross country for Florida State University. This experience as an athlete helped shape my view that the combination of physical activity and nutrition is a balanced approach to stay healthy over the long term. Whether someone is looking to manage a health condition or learn more about nutrition, I am here to help support your long term goals.
Approach to care
My approach to care stems from individualized guidance and a focus on long term results rather than short term fixes. I want to take the time to get to know you and your lifestyle to be able to create a nutrition strategy that are both realistic and sustainable. I prioritize using information I have read from evidence based literature to help empower people to reach their individualized goals and improve their quality of life and well being.
Your first session with Jennifer
In our first session we will spend time getting to know each other, and talking about your personal goals. We will speak on current eating habits, daily routines, health concerns, and anything you want to work on. Our sessions will be a supportive environment with flexibility to work on a strategy that fits your lifestyle. Nutrition is such an individualized space so I want to use the time to create a plan that will work for you long term!
