About Jennifer

Hi to my prospective clients, please call me Jenn! I am so happy to be a part of Nourish and have the opportunity to continue with nutrition counseling. Currently I am full time in the diabetes device world but counseling is what I love the most. My interest in nutrition began early I remember food shopping with my Mom, she would point out the food labels and what to learn from them :-). I had an anatomy class in high school and was so impressed I decided on a health related career. I also remember the awful tasting, "fat free," snack foods marketing craze, so grateful we keep learning and evolving with food knowledge. I have had the pleasure of working in many settings more recently with a large doctors group for several years working with patients with various medical histories especially general weight health, bariatric surgery, different types of Diabetes. I also enjoyed working for a large regional hospital for several years in the stroke and medical intensive care units.

Approach to care

My approach is holistic because the bigger picture is important but also small day to day changes are so valuable. I want to help you feel confident in food facts and how to navigate through all of the media trends, I also aim to follow best practices and science supported recommendations. I also feel that collaboration is key; whether it is info I can gain from other clinicians or those especially talented people with cooking and food prep knowledge but most especially between you and I... we will work out solutions one meal at a time.

Your first session with Jennifer

There is so much to know about your preferences, habits and goals so when we first meet I will be just getting to know all about you and what you hope want from our visits and hear your questions and concerns. I prefer walking through your typical day of eating together in which there is absolutely zero judgment and hope you can feel completely open and comfortable in sharing.
