About Jennifer
I have been interested in health and nutrition since a young child. After getting my bachelor's degree in nutrition and a master's degree in public health nutrition, I went on to become a dietitian because my passion has always been to help individuals eat healthy and be healthy. As a dietitian, I have worked in a variety of settings including clinical, research, government agency and in areas such as obesity, human genetics, dietary guidelines and health coaching. I am continuously seeking new knowledge on how nutrition plays a role throughout life, from toddlerhood to senior. Many individuals struggle with eating, which affect their nutrition, such as toddlers who are "picky eaters" and neurodivergent individuals who have unique food preferences, altered appetite, forgetting to eat or difficulty concentrating during meals. It is important to support these individuals through these behaviors so they receive proper nutrition.
Approach to care
Having worked in a variety of areas past 25 years, I have a holistic view on diet and health and the realization that there is no simple approach that fits everyone. Genetics and health conditions impact an individualās dietary needs and response to certain nutrients. Lifestyle factors, such as physical activity and overall dietary patterns play a significant role in overall health and well-being. By understanding and considering both genetics, health conditions and nutrition, individuals can make informed dietary choices that support their unique genetic makeup and promote optimal health. My job as a dietitian is to be your coach, empowering you to make informed decisions about your health through education, motivation, and accountability.
Your first session with Jennifer
During the first session we'll take some time to get to know each other and I will ask about your medical history, current health issues and your eating and lifestyle habits. You will have time to explain what it is that you want to achieve and we'll develop a plan with both short-term and long-term goals.
