About Jessica
I have been a registered and licensed dietitian since 2010. My Master's is in Clinical Exercise Physiology, and I specialize in chronic disease risk factors and am board certified in Sports Dietetics. I teach nutrient metabolism, diabetes classes, and sports nutrition classes, and work with collegiate athletes. Women's health during pregnancy and breastfeeding is a special interest of mine, as I have five children. I have an extensive endurance exercise background, including eight Boston Marathon finishes.
Approach to care
I believe in meeting clients where they actually are. Together, we will set appropriate and reasonable goals designed to improve your health and well-being. I will get to know you and use tailored counseling skills to assist you in identifying potential obstacles and plans to overcome them. My approach is client-centered, gentle, and without judgement.
Your first session with Jessica
Besides the usual housekeeping items, expect that I will want to learn about your previous nutrition-related experiences. I will also ask for pertinent medical history so that we can move toward the correct nutrition issues. Finally, I will chat with you to understand what motivates you and makes you tick so I can share appropriate resources and adopt a counseling style that you will enjoy!
