About Jessica

Hello! I am a Registered Dietitian based in Ohio. Throughout my 14-year career, I have had the opportunity to explore many different areas of nutrition and healthcare in general. Although I started my career in acute care, I have spent the majority of my time specializing in community nutrition and education (primarily women, infants, and children). A few years back, my oldest child was diagnosed unexpectedly with an autoimmune disease and that really pushed me to pay closer attention to what we expose our bodies to and the impact our choices have on our health. As a result, I particularly find holistic and functional nutrition beneficial and enjoy teaching patients a food first model.

Approach to care

Upon learning about an individualā€™s care and history, I like to collaborate with them to determine the nutrition needs that will put them on a path that best fits their overall, personal health goals. A patient-centered approach! I think we all need a little help navigating the ā€œins and outsā€ of nutrition and our ever-changing health in general. Sometimes you just need someone to really listen and help you to sort through both the big and little things.

Your first session with Jessica

In our first session, my initial goal is to find out what brought you to Nourish and to get to know you. I like to keep life balance and moderation in mind. This will look different for every person. I think it is important to take an unbiased approach to each individual and to help them gain or hone the skills necessary to meet their health goals.
