About Jessica
Kidney Wellness & Media Expert Jessica Clancy began her career at 17 as a cosmetologist, working 18 years while earning her BS in Nutrition from the University of Houston. In 1996, she worked in London through BUNAC and traveled to 17 European countries, expanding her global perspective. She later earned her MA in Nutrition with a business minor from Sam Houston State University, including studies in Puebla, Mexico. For nearly two decades, Jessica has served as a registered dietitian in Houston, including at the Texas Medical Center, supporting individuals across all life stages. Passionate about kidney health, her mission is to educate and empower people to prevent, protect, and preserve kidney function. She aims to close the awareness gapātransforming āI didnāt know I had kidney diseaseā into āI know my kidney function and how to protect it.ā
Approach to care
I love meeting new people, building lasting relationships, and connecting others in meaningful ways. Iām passionate about helping othersāespecially through teaching, sharing, and introducing people to ideas or experiences they havenāt encountered before. Writing, preparing, and public speaking are among my strongest skills. Iāve even earned the Presentation Mastery badge with Toastmasters, which has sharpened my ability to lead and inspire change. Iām a natural teacher who helps people see things from new perspectives. Perseverance is one of my core strengthsāI donāt give up easily. Iām committed to finding answers, analyzing challenges, and identifying effective interventions and solutions. I love turning research into bite-sized nutrition tips that make a real difference in peopleās lives. I specialize in using evidence-based wisdom to empower others to take care of themselvesāpreventing, delaying, and managing disease through practical, informed choices.
Your first session with Jessica
I want to learn about you! In our first session, weāll review key information to help me understand who you are, your past food habits, and the influences that have shaped your dietary patterns. By taking a deep dive into your personal story, we can uncover the roots of habits you may be ready to change. Acknowledging those roots allows you to better understand your relationship with food, your eating behaviors, and how you view yourself and others. Through this process of self-discovery, youāll gain insight, tools to keep in your wellness toolbox, and the motivation and inspiration to take meaningful action. Together, weāll lay the foundation for the lasting change youāre seekingāone step at a time.
