Patient reviews
“Jessica is fantastic! She goes above and beyond teaching you about fiid and healthy habits. When I was experiencing financial hardship, she spent a couple sessions with me helping me price and coupon a grocery list that would be the foods I needed, but also fit my financial constraints. She also gave me information to financial assistance resources. She didn’t have to, but she did.“

“Jessica has been really great in helping me build a better understanding of what it means to have a healthy and balanced nutrution by educating me on the different aspects of my nutrition. Our meetings are catered to my needs and goals, which has allowed me to help the food guilt I used to carry. Jessica has created a safe and healthy space for me to share my concerns, while simultaneously encourages me to meet my goals. “

About Jessica
I specialize in eating disorders, disordered eating, and a non-diet approach to weight management. I'm originally from South Florida, but am currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and minor in Psychology at Florida State University followed by my Master’s and Dietetic Internship in Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Florida. I have over 3 years of experience working with eating disorders at inpatient and residential levels of care. I have also worked in the private practice setting counseling patients with a variety of nutrition concerns- diabetes, weight management, GI, eating disorders, sports nutrition, and general health.
Approach to care
When I am working with clients I like to make sure I have the full picture- what they want to accomplish, what they have tried in the past, what worked and what didn't, motivators, barriers, etc. I work with clients to make sustainable changes to ensure their nutrition goals are met in the present and continue to be maintained long term. I know there can be a lot of contradicting nutrition information floating around on the internet, I am here to help you navigate it and provide evidenced-based research that will help you reach your personal goals.
Your first session with Jessica
The first session is the time to get to know one another and to create a clear vision of what nutrition goals the client has. I will review the client's medical and nutrition background. This is also a great time for the client to share any lifestyle factors that may impact nutrition progress such as work, school, or traveling. Once the foundation is set, the client and I will collaborate to set nutrition goals to work on and I will provide nutrition education to set the client up for success in meeting these goals. I will wrap up the session by answering any additional questions the client has and reviewing what was discussed in our time together.
