About Jessica

Jessica Haims, MSPH, RD, LD, is a registered dietitian with over five years of experience in pediatric weight management, oncology, and cardiovascular health. She specializes in counseling individuals with cancer and heart disease, drawing on extensive training and practice. Jessica earned a Master of Science in Public Health in Human Nutrition – Dietitian Program from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she also completed a 1,200-hour supervised clinical internship. She has worked with organizations such as the National Cancer Institute, translating research into patient-centered education on malnutrition, appetite changes, weight management, and cancer cachexia. A cancer survivor herself, Jessica brings empathy and a unique perspective to her practice. She is passionate about helping patients make sustainable lifestyle changes, communicating science clearly, and empowering them with evidence-based guidance.

Approach to care

Jessica’s approach to patient care is centered on empathy, sustainability, and evidence-based guidance. She helps patients make small, incremental lifestyle changes that are realistic and long-lasting, rather than overwhelming. As both a registered dietitian and a cancer survivor, she deeply understands the importance of listening to patients’ experiences and meeting them where they are. She empowers individuals by translating complex nutrition science into clear, practical strategies, while also addressing myths and misconceptions. Above all, Jessica ensures that every patient feels supported, heard, and respected as they work together to improve health outcomes.

Your first session with Jessica

In the first session, Jessica spends time getting to know the patient and discussing their health history, lifestyle, and goals. She wants to ensure she is the right fit to support what they are looking for, and uses this time to set priorities together. Her goal is for each patient to leave with a clear and realistic plan so they know exactly how to move forward.
