Patient reviews
“I have been working with Jessica for about 4 months and all my bloodwork numbers have come down and are in normal ranges. My relationship with food is better than at any point in my adult life and attitude towards movement and exercise has changed to the positive. I will never "diet" again. “

“Jess is an amazing dietician. She's been extremely kind and thoughtful in all of our sessions and helped me to reevaluate the way I think of food and health and their relationships to one another. Since starting with Jess, my health has improved and so has my mindset.“

“Great support and information, some of which I didn't know I needed. Yay chips and salsa!“
About Jessica
Hi, I'm Jess! I've been working as a dietitian for over a decade, specializing in nutrition counseling through an Intuitive Eating and weight inclusive lens. I started off my career in a community-based setting, which taught me how to incorporate my non-diet approach into medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, heart disease, GI concerns, disordered eating, and more. I also believe strongly in a holistic approach to health and wellness, and have additional training as a chef from The Natural Gourmet Institute of NYC along with one year of postgraduate education in mental health counseling.
Approach to care
My only "goal" is to come to each session with an open-mind, humility, and commitment to client autonomy. I work diligently to create brave spaces where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves, their challenges, and what's most important to them. Additionally, my process-oriented approach digs deeper than providing cookie cutter meal plans or rigid rules. I take the time to guide clients to a stronger understanding of the "why" behind their actions so they can cultivate a more compassionate and supportive mindset around food and their bodies, and move forward with sustainable choices that feel intuitively right for them as individuals.
Your first session with Jessica
Trust is crucial to the counseling relationship, and that takes time to build. The first session is about getting to know each other so that you feel as comfortable as possible. I will want to learn more about your goals, as well as what experiences you've had with healthcare providers, diets, and wellness culture in the past. Knowing more about your likes and dislikes, as well as your concerns and goals, will help me create the safest space possible for you. Depending on how the conversation evolves, there may or may not be a whole lot of "action" during this first session - remember, true wellness isn't about quick fixes! - but you will leave with clear expectations and next steps.
