About Jessica

Hi, I’m Jessica Spiro, and I’m a registered dietitian with over a decade of experience in both hospital and outpatient settings. Before relocating to Philadelphia, I was the go-to nutrition expert for a San Diego news station, where I enjoyed sharing practical nutrition tips and recipes with a wide audience. My true passion is working with people, one-on-one, because nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all. Even the most nutrition-savvy person can struggle to make changes that stick. I help clients integrate nutrition into their real lives—whether navigating family demands, busy work schedules, emotional eating, or body image concerns. My specialties include cardiac health, oncology, and weight management. Having walked alongside my own family through serious medical challenges, I understand how powerful it is to feel supported. Whether you’re facing a new diagnosis or working toward long-term wellness, I’m here to help you build lasting, sustainable habits.

Approach to care

I believe nutrition support should feel empowering—not overwhelming. That means focusing on progress over perfection and finding practical ways to include nourishing foods you actually enjoy. I don’t offer rigid plans or quick fixes; instead, I provide personalized strategies that work with your lifestyle and reflect your individual needs. Whether you’re focused on heart health, blood sugar balance, or overall wellness, I’ll help you make sustainable changes that build confidence, ease, and joy in your relationship with food.

Your first session with Jessica

In our first session, we’ll take a comprehensive look at your health history, current lifestyle, and goals. We’ll review any relevant lab results (if available) and discuss your concerns to start building a nutrition plan tailored to your needs and preferences. My goal is to provide guidance that feels realistic and sustainable for you. You’ll leave with a better understanding of how food impacts your health and some practical first steps to move forward with confidence.

Hobbies

I’m grateful to do the work I love—connecting with clients across the country, often with a cup of coffee in hand and a dog curled up nearby. When I’m not working, you’ll find me experimenting in the kitchen with my daughter (you’ll often hear us say, “this tastes better than it looks!”), staying current with the latest nutrition research and trends, or chasing after my two energetic dogs, Confetti and Candy—who absolutely live up to their party-themed names. As a mom to a young, three-time leukemia warrior, I’m passionate about raising awareness for childhood cancer. That journey has also deepened my commitment to leading with empathy—because I’ve seen how powerful compassionate, personalized care can be. It’s the foundation of how I support my clients today. When it comes to nutrition, my philosophy is simple: food is so much more than fuel. It’s a way to honor, nourish, and celebrate our mind, body, and spirit. It brings us together, sparks joy, and sometimes just makes life better. And if finding that joy in eating feels like a challenge, that’s okay—I’m here to help.
