About Jessica

Hi, I’m Jessica Spiro, RD! I’ve been a registered dietitian for over a decade, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Before moving to Philadelphia, I was a regular nutrition expert for a local news station in San Diego. I specialize in cardiac health, oncology, and weight loss, blending evidence-based strategies with personalized, empathetic support. Having walked alongside my own family through serious medical challenges, I understand firsthand the power of compassionate care. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis or simply looking to optimize your health, I’m here to guide you toward meaningful, sustainable change.

Approach to care

I believe nutrition care should be empowering, not overwhelming. My approach focuses on progress, not perfection, by incorporating nourishing foods you enjoy into your daily life. Instead of restrictive diet plans, I provide personalized strategies that fit your lifestyle and address your unique challenges. Whether you’re focused on heart health, blood sugar management, or overall wellness, I’ll help you make sustainable changes that bring confidence, joy, and better health.

Your first session with Jessica

In our first session, we’ll take a comprehensive look at your health history, current lifestyle, and goals. We’ll review any relevant lab results (if available) and discuss your concerns to start building a nutrition plan tailored to your needs and preferences. My goal is to provide guidance that feels realistic and sustainable for you. You’ll leave with a better understanding of how food impacts your health and some practical first steps to move forward with confidence.

Hobbies

I love working remotely to support clients across the country—usually (or let’s be real, always) with a cup of coffee in hand. When I’m not working, you’ll find me experimenting in the kitchen (some recipes more successful than others), exploring local parks with my daughter, or chasing after our two energetic dogs, Confetti and Candy—who absolutely live up to their party-themed names. As a mom to a three-time leukemia warrior, I’m passionate about raising awareness for childhood cancer. When it comes to nutrition, my philosophy is simple: food is so much more than just fuel. It’s a way to honor, nourish, and celebrate our mind, body, and spirit. It brings us together, sparks joy, and sometimes just makes life better. And if finding that joy in eating feels like a challenge, that’s okay—I’m here to help.
