About Jessica
I am a registered dietitian with 11 years experience helping others reach their health and wellness goals through personalized nutrition plans.I came to nutrition as a second career, but I’ve always been intrigued by the science behind food, cooking, metabolism and the role food plays in an individual’s culture. After spending time in both the clinical and community nutrition realms, I understand that each individual’s needs are different and vary across each stage of life.
Approach to care
My care philosophy is to meet people where they are and support changes to improve wellness and quality of life. My counseling style is a weight neutral, non diet approach with a focus on nutrition that fits your lifestyle. I am here to listen and support you and provide accountability to help you achieve your goals.
Your first session with Jessica
The first session is about you! Getting a picture of your daily life, work, routines and eating style. What are your ideas about nutrition and health? What do you feel you’re doing well and what would you like to change? You will also set a couple of goals for the next session to help move towards sustainable change. And there is always time for questions any time during the session.
Education
Masters Degree in Nutrition and Food from Kent State University. I enjoy learning and expand my knowledge by doing individual research, and attending webinars and conferences.
Hobbies
I love trying and developing new recipes, walking, drawing, and trying new knitting patterns. At times, I can be found curled up with one of my cats watching cooking and true crime TV shows. I also enjoy listening to all types of music.
