About Jill
Hello I am a Registered Dietitian, and was raised in upstate NY. I have a warm engaging style and hope to put you at ease on our first appointment. I enjoy helping people learn how their mind, body, and soul are supported by the food choices they make. I really enjoy the teaching process, and hope you learn something new each time we work together! If I donât know the answer to a question you have-I will research the evidence-based answer and get back to you promptly. I have worked in a variety of settings, acute care hospital, home infusion, corporate wellness dietitian, sports nutrition, & long-term care. My passions include various fitness activities, learning Salsa and Bachata dance, Horseback riding, and learning Piano.
Approach to care
I take pride in listening very carefully to my clients, rather than just âhearingâ which helps foster long term relationships. I believe in a âweight neutralâ approach, and love educating clients about nutrition, helping them make sense of the overwhelming amount of âdietâ information on different platforms. I truly value that each person is unique, as are their health and nutrition needs. There is no nutritional âone size fits allâ approach. I believe in an intuitive eating approach, where no particular food is against the rules if included in a nutritious eating plan. The food choices that we make can influence how we feel on a daily basis-and also possibly improve long term health. I also encourage exercise-in any form you like! My hope is that after we work collaboratively on each session that you feel you have learned a thing or two about nutrition and how to incorporate what you have learned into your daily life.
Your first session with Jill
In our first session it is about getting to know you, find out what main goals are most important to you. I will also ask you about your medical history, eating habits ie: what your meal pattern looks like and foods you like. We will also discuss your lifestyle and exercise habits. During the first visit we will collaborate on 1 or 2 small achievable goals.
