About Joanna

Hi, I'm Joanna. I'm a Registered Dietitian with 21 years of experience, and I hold credentials as an RDN and CPT. My career spans clinical and hospital settings as well as community health, giving me a practical view of nutrition in daily life. Outside of work, I enjoy jogging, aerobics, strength training, yoga and Pilates. I just recently obtained certification as a Certified Personal Trainer through the NSCA because of my love of fitness and knowledge that a general healthful diet and exercise together have so many wonderful benefits to overall health and wellness and disease prevention. I strive to be approachable and focused on you to get the results you want.

Approach to care

My care philosophy centers on making nutrition practical, compassionate, and evidence-based. I believe in collaboration, not judgment, and I’ll meet you where you are. Together we translate science into doable steps that fit your life, values, and preferences. I practice with an approach focusing on sustainable behaviors rather than restrictive diets so that you will have a good relationship with food which I feel is important no matter what your goals are and will make customized adjustments as our sessions continue to help you get the results you want and make progress towards your goals. I aim to empower you with knowledge and skills, weaving science with empathy to support lasting wellbeing and a balanced relationship with food.

Your first session with Joanna

Our first appointment is a warm, low pressure conversation about you. We'll review your medical history, current routines, and relationship with food, and discuss what matters most to you. We'll also look at any lab results or biometrics you want to share. We'll frame 1 to 2 small, realistic short-term goals and outline simple steps to start. No need to have everything figured out yet, we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable and together we'll build your customized plan. I look forward to working with you!
